The study and care of plants play an integral role in Yuli's practice. Her work addresses concepts associated with testimony and remembrance, protection and love. The artist's detailed observation of plants, as if looking through a microscope, highlights the forms and singularities of their structures, which are then translated to paper in drawings or prints. Her works also explore memory, care, and healing. Her work as a graphic artist also stands out for her search for non-toxic materials for printmaking. She holds a degree in Education in Plastic Arts from the University of Antioquia and completed lithography studies at the Tamarind Institute in New Mexico, USA. In 2023, she was invited to the artistic residency in lithography at the Künstlerhaus, in Munich, Germany. She is a renowned teacher, after a 14-year career teaching printmaking at the University of Antioquia, she recently retired to pursue her artistic career. Last year during her stay in Germany, she was a guest lecturer at the Bauhaus in Weimer, Germany. In 2024, she participated in the “Introspective Line: A History of Printmaking in Antioquia” at the Museo de Antioquia, and had a solo exhibition, “Herbarios y Memorias” at the Museo de Antropología y Artes de Jericó (MAJA), Antioquia.
