A Love Letter to Italian Culture

Curated by Florence Müller, with set design by Agence Galuchat and produced by IMG, the exhibition features over 300 pieces from archival and recent collections. More than a retrospective, it unfolds an immersive journey through the creative process of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Italian culture stands at the core of this narrative. Sicily, Catholic iconography, opera, ballet, regional folklore, artisanal traditions, architecture, and the enduring spirit of la dolce vita from the foundation of the Designers’ vision. Each room reveals a different dimension of this culture, reimagined through a contemporary lens.

Moving through the exhibition feels like traveling across centuries of artistic influence. Renaissance compositions, Baroque opulence, Byzantine gold, classical mythology and palatial interiors reappear.

Fashion in dialogue with art

One of the most compelling aspects of this exhibition is its seamless dialogue between fashion and contemporary art. The exhibition includes works by visual artists such as Quayola, Alberto Maria Colombo, Obvious, Vittorio Bonapace and Felice Limosani, presented in conversation with Dolce&Gabbana’s designs.

This curatorial decision enriches the experience, positioning the brand at the interaction of Italian craftsmanship and contemporary artistic experimentation. The garments are accompanied by digital art, visual installations and scenographic environments. At its core, the exhibition is about making.

Why it matters in Miami

ICA Miami’s role as a space for contemporary visual culture, allows this exhibition to function as a mediation on heritage, identity and reinterpretation.

At The Art Dome, we are continually exploring the dialogue between art and space, how a visual language shapes its environments and how cultural memory informs contemporary design. From the Heart to the Hans the ICA reinforces that meaningful creation emerges when tradition and innovation coexist.
